I am from the small state of Rhode Island, where you can get anywhere in within 45 minutes,

I am from a small neighborhood where everyone knows everything about you,

I am from the greenest lawn on the street, that everyone comments on that lives on the street,

I am from a home filled with laughter and traditions that have been carried on from generation to generation,

I am from furby’s who wont stop speaking in their native tongue so you have to take out their batteries,

I am from the strong aroma of mothballs from my grandmother’s closet,

I am from my grandfather who would constantly ask “did you work today”,

I am from my grandmother’s amazing cooking whether it be rice pilaf or her corn pudding she never disappoints,

I am from the family who has a 7 course meal for every holiday courtesy of my grandmother,

I am from my dad’s sierra club calendars that he writes every possible event that may have occurred in, and that sits in the living room,

I am from the Armenian prayer that is said before every holiday meal,

I am from the cold winters filled with skiing and my cousin spilling hot chocolate all over everything,

I am from “think positive” and always “try your best”,

I am from these moments that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
